Французская группа Kells сформирована в 2004 году. Первоначално в состав группы входило 3 участника: Virginie (Вокал, Фронтвумен), Patrick (Гитара), и Fabrice (Клавишные). В 2005 году состав расширился до 5 человек: Jrmie (Бас гитара) и Guillaume (Ударные). Стиль Kells позиционирующей себя как готик- группа, включает в себя также элементы электронной, классической музыки, металла. В ноябре 2005 года был выпущен дебютный альбом «Gaia» На независимом лейбле AVFP. Сперва концерты группы проходили в их родном регионе Рона — Альпы. Постепенно расширяясь на соседние города и государства. Отыграв 55 концертов меньше чем за год, группа добилась известности и уважения в том числе среди своих коллег, Играя вместе с такими гигантами современной сцены как Apocalyptica, Epica, Aqme, Magica, Paradise Lost, Eths, L’esprit du clan, Tripod, Deportivo, Dub Incorporation, Kaophonic tribu, и т.д. В мае 2007, Guillaume покинул группу . Jean “Jano” Padovan, Стал новым драммером группы, а Laurent заменил Jeremie как бас-гитариста. Таким составом группа и выпустила в 2009 году их новый альбом “Lueurs”.
